Global Partners Fit Nokia 3300 Series Phones to Cellport Universal Hands-Free System

CTIA WIRELESS 2002, ORLANDO, Fl., March 18, 2002 -- Cellport Systems, a leading provider of automotive wireless communications technologies and products, and ALAC GmbH, Germany, a licensed Cellport Global Partner, today announced a new Pocket Adapter for connecting popular Nokia 3300 series GSM and TDMA wireless phones to the Cellport Universal Hands-Free System. The first such product to result from the Cellport Global Partners program, the Nokia 3300 Pocket Adapter has been designed and manufactured by ALAC, who will also market it worldwide. Cellport will market the new Pocket Adapter in North America.

Since its introduction last year, the entry-level Nokia 3300 series phone has rapidly become one of Nokia's most popular models, with versions available in all major markets around the world. The new Pocket Adapter works with the Nokia 3360 and 3390 models currently available to customers of AT&T, Cingular and VoiceStream, among others, in the US, as well as the upcoming Nokia 3395 model. The new Pocket Adapter also works with the Nokia 3310, 3330 and 3350 model phones available outside of North America. In December, Cellport introduced a Pocket Adapter for the Nokia 8260 wireless phone, another popular model from Nokia.

The new Pocket Adapter joins Cellport’s current line-up of adapters supporting Nokia 3285, 5100, 6100, 7100 and 8260 series phones; Kyocera QCP-2000 series handsets, Samsung SPH-N200 phones, Motorola StarTAC and Timeport “flip style” phones and Motorola i1000plus series phones for Nextel.

Availability and Pricing

Suggested retail pricing for Cellport’s new Pocket Adapter for the Nokia 3300 series is $79. Initial shipments are planned for May.
